Pleasant Twp. man arrested on 41 sexual offense charges

A Pleasant Township man was arrested on Wednesday and remains behind bars on over 41 charges related to sexual offenses that occurred between 1976 and 2003.

William Gisselbrecht III, 65, 304 Cold Spring Lane, was arrested and preliminarily arraigned Wednesday evening by District Justice Glenn Carlson. He was remanded to the Warren County Jail after he was unable to post $200,000 bail.

According to the criminal complaint, Gisselbrecht’s victim was approximately seven years old when the abuse began and “this continued for a number of years.”

The victim then became separated from Gisselbrecht for some time before they reconnected when the victim was 28. The affidavit of probable cause states that Gisselbrecht apologized to the victim “and that their relationship improved with her attempting to forgive him.” The affidavit indicates that “the relationship was good” in 1999 or 2000.

However, according to the affidavit, a fall 2003 houseboat weekend fishing trip on the Kinzua Reservoir resulted in Gisselbrecht assaulting the victim again, this time as an adult.

Gisselbrecht has been charged with one count of rape forcible compulsion, five counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse forcible compulsion, 10 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, four counts of sexual assault, three counts of aggravated indecent assault without consent, three counts of aggravated indecent assault forcible compulsion, three counts of aggravated indecent assault victim less than 13 years old, aggravated indecent assault victim less than 16 years old, all of which are felonies.

He also faces misdemeanor charges of two counts of indecent assault person less than 13 years of age, two counts indecent assault without consent of other, two counts of indecent assault forcible compulsion, indecent exposure and indecent assault person less than 16 years of age.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 9 at 10 a.m.
