Man sought in J’town shooting

The Jamestown, N.Y., Police Department has released the name and photo of a suspect identified as the shooter in a Tuesday evening shooting at Appleyard Terrace in Jamestown.

Trenton L. Grant, 20, is wanted for questioning in related to this shooting. It is believed that Grant is still in the Jamestown area and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Charges against Grant for the shooting of a victim are pending.

Grant is also currently wanted by the Lakewood-Busti police for a separate burglary that occurred last week where a handgun, safe, laptop computer and jewelry were taken from a home on Aug. 28. Lakewood-Busti police were able to recover the safe and laptop computer at two separate locations in the city of Jamestown.

The handgun that was taken from the residence in Lakewood was recovered by the Jamestown Police Department near the scene of the shooting last evening and is believed to be the weapon that was used to shoot the victim as he walked behind Appleyard Terrace.

Police also are looking for Isaiah Pearson, 20, in connection with the Lakewood burglary.

Police have not released the name of the shooting victim, who was struck by two bullets while in the yard of a Second Street residence. He was transported to UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie for surgery.

Police said both suspects currently have outstanding bench warrants for burglary and grand larceny and are possibly together and attempting to avoid apprehension by authorities.
