Hospice of Warren County, a non-profit affiliate of Warren General Hospital received contributions during August in memory of Dennis Anthony, Archie ‘Dennis’ Buerkle, Virginia Brocklehurst, Robert Brumagin, Betty Burt, Pete and Alice Christensen, Marcia Cosmano, Richard Davis, Robert Dietsch, Jack Donovan, Bill and Lillian Fitzgerald, Gerald Gray, Joan Hamel, Clyde Harman, Anna Mae Howe, Anne Louise Hyatt, Joyce Leofsky, Sylvia Leonard, Olive Lindell, Eugene Mascaro, Jennifer Morell, Martin ‘Gene’ Nelson, Cheryl Nichol, Carlton Olson, Delores Rea, Kathleen Shea, Glenn Slocum, Scott Steffan, Elizabeth Hottel Streich, Robert Swanson, Lily and Cho To, Michael Tomassoni, Lawrence Tyers Sr., Glen Valentine, Ann Wharton and Cathryn Yeagle.
Memorials were also made in honor of Rev. James Gutting, Robert and DeAnn King and in honor of Dennis and Barb Morgan’s 50th anniversary.

Community Blood Bank will hold a blood drive from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church in Warren. To schedule an appointment, which are not necessary, visit fourhearts.org/donate. Donators must be at least 17 years old to donate (16 with a consent form), 110 pounds and in general good health.
Beach to close
The beach at Chapman State Park will be open through Sunday, Sept. 7, with swimming hours from 8 a.m. to sunset. Swimming is on an open basis – no life guards are on duty – and children must be supervised by an adult at all times. The concessions, operated by BEI, offering food and snacks, and canoe, kayak, and paddleboat rentals, will be open through Monday, Sept. 1. Those interested in more information may call 723-0250.
