Sylvania picnic

Warren and Titusville Sylvania retirees and former employees (GTE and Osram, hourly and salary employees) will have their annual picnic from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Lions Den in Sheffield. Dinner will be served at 4 p.m. Dinner choices are a half a chicken for $10 or steak for $15. Checks should be made payable to Sylvania Retirees and mailed to Ann Cochran, P.O. Win at bridge

Winners in Monday’s duplicate bridge game at the YMCA were Mary Anne Gibson and Bob Greco, first with 53.44; Carol Stone and Emily Birgel, second with 42; and Dot Boekeloo and Sally Steele, and Matt Oram and Doug Megill, tied for third with 38.81. There will be no bridge play Monday, Labor Day. Play will resume Sept. 8.

Fire Services

Warren County Fire Services personnel are NOT needed for traffic control at the Tidioute turkey party Sunday as was reported in a brief earlier this week. They are, however, needed for traffic control at the Cornfield 500 in Columbus on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For information, fire police should call Mary Froman or call Nancy Burton at 730-5527.
