Nellie A. Moniak, 94, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Infinity Hospice, Las Ve-gas, NV.
She was born in Youngs-ville, PA on April 8,1920, the daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (Czura) Bialczak.
A wonderful and beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, she was a long time member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church. Recently living with her daughter Brenda in Hous-ton a member of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church and more recently with her daughter Barbara in Las Vegas a member of Guardi-an Angel Cathedral.
She loved cooking, bak-ing, sewing and gardening and will always be remem-bered for her famous Christ-mas cookies and above all her “whiskey cakes”. She traveled extensively with her family taking her from one vacation spot to anoth-er. Her door was always open to family and friends and she was the utmost in generosity.
Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara Tas-sone of Henderson, NV, Brenda Harlan of Cypress, TX; 5 grandchildren, Stacy Warner, Las Vegas, NV, Dudley (Michele) Warner, Fayetteville, NC, Tammi Tassone, Henderson, NV, Nicole Tassone, Las Vegas, NV, Collin Harlan, Cypress, TX. She also has 2 great grandchildren, Marianne Warner and Dan Warner of Fayetteville, NC. Also, several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Emil, whom she married on August 13, 1938, a daughter Mary Ann Jasen, 3 sisters, Victoria Vizza, Helen McGraw, Stel-la Miller and 2 brothers, Tony and John Bialczak.
A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Guardian Angel Cathedral, Las Vegas with Father Timothy Wehn officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with Fa-ther Richard Toohey of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church conducting the graveside service.
