First in 5K
Stacey Donovan finished first in her age group in the “Grady’s Decision” 5K run held at Presque Isle State Park on July 19 in Erie. Grady’s Decision is a non-profit organization benefitting families that experience immature births.
Pete Hofert’s 36 was the low gross on Tuesday in the Youngsville Area Senior Golf League. Don Hook was second low gross at 40. Hook was also low net for the week with a 29, and Hofert and Larry Dupere tied for second low net at 31. Hofert recorded two birdies and Hook, Dave Cassidy, Jim Dunn, and Bob Yucha all had one each.
Mike Bancroft had the 18-hole low individual gross at Conewango Valley Country Club’s Men’s Day. Flight-by-flight leaders from the front nine are as follows:

Warren Area High School graduate Devon Olson finished third overall in the Eastern States 100 held August 16 in Waterville, PA. Olson finished the 100-mile race in 21:53:38.
The Jamestown Old Times lost a tough pair of games to Greenville last weekend, 17-10 and 9-1, to close out the regular season of 50+ baseball. Double elimination playoffs begin Saturday, August 23. The Jamestown Old Timers face off against the Youngstown Falcons at 1 p.m. in Pemberton Park, Youngstown. The second round of the playoffs will follow at 3:30, win or lose.
