Sharon Birtcil and Sue Shea tied for the low round of 49 in this week’s Blueberry Ladies League action at Blueberry Hill Golf Course. Sue Shields took home the low net with 35. Here are the flight-by-flight leaders from Tuesday’s competition:

Buckhorn put up a bunch of crooked numbers Tuesday in a 23-13 Over 30 Modified Softball League win over Freddie’s at Betts Park.

Ryan Smith and Erik Smith were each 5-for-5 and John Horton 4-for-4 in the win.

Benefit 5K

A monthly meeting on the seventh annual Victim Impact Panel Memorial 5K, upcoming on Saturday, Sept. 20, will be held at 4:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8. For information on the race, call Christina Fitch at 563-3212, or e-mail

Benefit cycling

The Dirty Dozen cycling event – three ride options of 25 miles, 50 miles and 100 miles – will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, beginning at the Allegheny Cyclery. A $25 donation will benefit Warren-resident Samantha Sitler’s for her medical costs.
