Free children’s clothing

The deacons of North Warren Presbyterian Church will distribute children’s clothing on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. until noon in the pavilion at North Warren Community Park, which is located at the corner of Church and State Streets in North Warren. Free Family Movie Night

The community is invited to a free Family Movie Night this Friday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Warren Alliance Church (278 Kinzua Rd). The featured movie is Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted.” There will be free popcorn and prizes. The purpose of the Family Movie Night is to provide an affordable evening of entertainment to families in our community. Films will be chosen that have a high family rating.

Movie Monday

Monday Night Movies at the Warren Public Library will continue Aug. 25. This free event will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Slater Room on the third floor of the library. Complimentary popcorn will be available. This week’s TV-G rated, 30 minute film is perfect for children and the family. The animated film stars the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Carl Weathers, Timothy Dalton and Don Rickles. What starts out as a fun road trip for the familiar Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this story of toy terror! Parkinson support offered

The Warren Parkinson Disease Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m.Tuesday, Sept. 2, at CTI Physical Therapy, 2265 Market St., Warren. Individuals with Parkinson Disease and their families are invited to attend. For more information, call 757-8795.

Music in the Park, sponsored by Northwest Savings Bank, will feature the country music of “Full House” beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Soldiers & Sailors Park, Pennsylvania Ave. W. at Hickory St., Warren.

4-H Rotary night planned

The 52nd Annual Rotary 4-H Achievement Night will be held Thursday, Nov. 6, at the 4-H Center in Pittsfield. Warren County 4-H members and volunteers will be honored for their achievements. The evening will also include the annual meeting for the Penn State Extension Board in Warren County. All members and volunteers are encouraged to apply for awards that relate to their leadership and project skill development. Many of the award applications can be found online at The deadline to submit applications will be Sept. 15 and is quickly approaching. Those who need applications mailed should contact the Penn State Extension office in Warren County at 563-9388. The 4-H program is a youth development program of Penn State Cooperative Extension. It is open to all youth between the ages of 8 and 19.

Reunion this week

The class reunion for Warren High School Class of 1954 will include a meet and greet at the Holiday Inn on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. Friends of the Class of 1954 are invited to come and visit with members of the class. The results of the Monday evening duplicate bridge game at the YMCA: Bob Greco and Mary Anne Gibson, first with 63; My Ignatius and Joan Butt, second with 60.4; and Magda Fanaritis and Matt Oram, third with 52.2.

Polka Sunday

The therapeutic activities group of BEi will man the hot dog wagon as a fund-raiser from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Thorne?s BiLo. The public is welcome to stop by for a hot dog and pop.
