Eileen Jewell

Eileen C. Jewell, 93, of Warren, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at Golden Living Kinzua.

Eileen was born May 27, 1921 in Youngsville, Pa, to the late John and Evelyn (Hodges) Carr. She was a first LT. in the Army Nurse Corp. for a year during WWII. Eileen was a housewife and a registered nurse for 35 years, working at Warren General Hospital, Warren State Hospital and was the director of nurses at the Rouse Home. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Nurses Association and the Eastern Star #478 in Youngsville. Growing up, Eileen was very active with the First United Methodist Church in Youngsville. She enjoyed golfing, traveling and was an avid sports fan.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Karen (Paul) Yourchisin of Warren, Bonnie Jewell of Sheffield; a soninlaw, Richard Park of Youngsville; her grandchildren, Brian Ruhlman, Damon Yourchisin, Kimberly Yourchisin, Jason Ruhlman, Chad Ruhlman, Christopher Kyler; her greatgrandchildren, Autumn, Bella, Delaney, Kaitlyn, Kevin, Sammie, Gracie, Emma, Jaydin, Tagyn, Walker, Chase and Andrew; her siblings, Warren (Nancy) Carr of Glen Allen, Virginia, Doris Littlefield of Lynchburg, Virginia, and many nieces and nephews. Eileen is also survived by an exchange student that lived with them, Ankie DeJongh along with her family, as they have become part of the family throughout the years.

In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Robert N. Jewell, whom she married March 3, 1945 in Youngsville; a daughter, Rebecca Park; and her siblings, John Carr, Phyllis Hendrickson and Maxine Carr.

Friends will be received on Monday, August 18, in the Parlors at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market Street, Warren, from 1010:45am. Members of the OES #478 will conduct a ritual at 10:45am. A memorial service will follow at 11am at the church with the Dr. Rev. Mark E. Hecht and Rev. Jon Swart, pastors, coofficiating. Burial will be in the Youngsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Sheffield Township Library, 20 Leather Street, Sheffield, Pa. 16347.
