Richard “Dick” F. Davis, 79, of Swede Hollow Rd., Sugar Grove, passed away Friday August 1, 2014 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House in Warren.
He was born July 27, 1935 in Napoli, N.Y., a son to the late Russell and Patricia “Penfield” Davis. Richard had been employed at Valeo in Jamestown for 35 years, where he worked as a radiator tester. He was a member of the Sugar Grove AmVets Club and enjoyed going to breakfast every morning at the New Beginnings restaurant in Sugar Grove with the guys. He also enjoyed working around his house.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy Davis, whom he married in Jamestown on October 26, 1968, his children, Richard “Denise” Davis of Ashville, N.Y., Denise “Steve” Donelson of Panama, N.Y. and Randy “Becky” Davis of Sherman, N.Y., a sister Gloria “Fred” Stanton and his brother Michael “Sandy” Davis, all of Russell, five grandchildren, Jonathan Davis, Jeremy Donelson, Danielle Donelson, April Davis, Jill Davis, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Julie Fetters, and a brother James Davis.
Friends will be received on Tuesday August 5th, from noon till 1 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 North Main St. in Youngsville, at which time a funeral service will be held there. Burial will follow in the Wesleyan Cemetery in Sugar Grove.
