free sports camp

Mega Sports Camp will be at Warren Alliance Church Aug. 10-14 from 6 to 8:25 p.m. each evening for all kids grades K through five. Each child will have the opportunity to participate in one of four sports: soccer, basketball, flag-football, or cheerleading. Every evening will include hands-on instruction in the chosen sport. There will also be a time of singing, snacks, and learning about God’s “Game Plan” for life. The first 50 kids will receive a free T-shirt. Register online at, or call 723-2380.

Calendar winners

The Allegheny Center for the Arts has announced the winners for the July page for the ACA/WCCBI “Warren County Wonders” calendar contest: Mark Evans won first place for “Reflections on the Fourth.” Leslie DeVore placed second for “Crossing Paths at the Tidioute Overlook.” Bill Simbeck placed third for “Kayaking.” All three winners are in the running for the cover of the calendar. ACA is accepting photos for August until Aug 20. Photos may also be sent for September, October, November and December (from last year). The last four months of the year need to be sent by Aug. 20. White reunion

The 2014 reunion of the descendants of Elder John White (Giles and Sarah Dodd White) will be held Sunday, Aug. 3, at Celoron Park Pavilion, 21 Boulevard Ave., Celoron, N.Y. Participants should plan to arrive at 12:30 p.m., and lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Those attending should take a dish to share, table service and beverage. A business meeting will follow lunch, and officers will be elected. The day also will include a white elephant auction, 50-50 raffle and visiting. Benefit in Jamestown

A “Gala of Hope” for Little Angels of Honduras will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Gateway Erie Train Station, 211-217 W. Second St., Jamestown, N.Y.
