Community worship planned Aug. 10
On Sunday, Aug. 10, a community-wide worship service will be held at the Struthers Library Theatre, sponsored by the Warren Area Ministerial Association. The service will start at 10 a.m., and, like last summer’s service, will feature a music team and a choir comprised of people from numerous area congregations. This year’s preacher will be The Rev. Kent Chevalier, the Wexford campus pastor for Northway Christian Community Church.
A prime purpose of this worship service is to provide an opportunity for different Christian denominations to focus on what unites us instead of on our differences. The following churches will be participating: Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Faith Fellowship, First Church of God Warren, First Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church, Harbor Free Methodist Church, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, North Warren Presbyterian Church, Pleasant Community Church, Salvation Army Church, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, The Worship Center (First Assembly of God), Trinity Episcopal Church, Warren Alliance Church and Warren Wesleyan Church.
The offering collected will go to The Salvation Army to assist its food pantry and its other services to Warren County.
