Allegheny Community Center is very fortunate to be on the itinerary of PA Department of Aging Secretary Brian Duke’s upcoming visits to special places in Pennsylvania. On Wed., July 16, at 11:30 a.m. he will give a brief presentation followed by a Q&A session and then a Luau luncheon in the dining room (reservations required) at noon. ACC is honored to be host/hostessing one of our State’s most important executives. Space is limited so please call 723-3237 to make your reservation soon.
Just a reminder that Allegheny Community Center is comfortably air-conditioned and is a wonderful place to meet friends and enjoy summer. In addition to special activities such as luncheon parties and guest speakers, there are mind exercises including Scrabble, cards of all kinds, Mah Jongg and Bingo and body fitness exercises including Tai-Chi, Yoga-Fit, Total fitness & core fitness, healthy steps, and walking the Center’s hallway (10 laps= mile). There’s always fresh brewed coffee as well as ice water and cold pop and juice. Please stop by the Center and see for yourself!
ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. M-F with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Mon. & Wed. ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays and on those days when Warren County schools are closed unexpectedly due to bad weather. Hot lunches or light alternative lunches are available Monday-Friday at noon. You can call your reservation to 723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.
The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers July 14-18: pizza sub Monday; cabbage roll Tuesday; chicken ceasar salad Wednesday; chicken tenders Thursday; and relish tray, salad and sandwiches Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations. Menu is subject to change based on availability.
