Post 658 downs Northwest

CORRY-Youngsville Post 658 scored five runs in the first two innings en route to a 6-2 win over Corry Northwest Savings Bank Wednesday at The Ballpark in Columbus.

Jake Marino and Aaron Hoover reached base to start the first inning for Youngsville and came around to score on a sacrifice bunt by Kyle Hunt and an RBI single by Logan Bellardo, respectively.

Corry nearly escaped the second inning damage free before Tanner Humphrey drilled a two-out single and Marino drew a walk, setting the stage for a three-run homer off the bat of Hoover.

Youngsville scored once more in the top of the seventh courtesy of an RBI single by Hunt that scored Marino.

In addition to driving in three of his team’s six runs, Hoover tossed five scoreless innings on the mound to earn the win for Youngsville. Hunt shut the door on the final two innings, allowing a pair of Corry runs in the seventh.

Marino reached base four times for Youngsville – all on walks – and scored three runs. Hunt added two runs batted in.
