This week at Chapman
The following events are planned at Chapman State Park this weekend:
On Saturday, a “Summer Scavenger Hunt” will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Become a super sleuth as you hunt for items in this nature friendly scavenger hunt. Each team that completes the scavenger hunt within 1 hour will win a prize. Meet at the amphitheater. A CSP Bat Count also is planned Saturday from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Join the park naturalist to learn about monitoring bat populations. Watch bats as they emerge from various roosting sites and fly off into the night. Listen to bats echo locating with a bat detector. Learn about the decline of bat populations and how you can help. Bring a flashlight. Meet at Pavilion #2.
The non-denominational worship service will be held at park amphitheater at 10 a.m. Sunday.
The concession stand, with boat rentals, snacks, ice, firewood and more, is open from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (closed Tuesdays). Use your camping receipt to receive a 10-percent discount on boat and bike rental.
