Women hear inspiring speaker
Warren Christian Women’s Connection held a “Say It With Music” luncheon recently with music scores centered with musical notes as favors and music scores as table decorations.
Speaker Doris Artman of Chambersburg talked about being a farm girl with an interest in music. She said “God has a special plan for everyone,” as told in Jeremiah 29:11. So, God allowed music into her life, and she earned degrees in music. Doris and her husband have been married 45 years. Three years after they were married, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and a few years later she was diagnosed with Myasthenia gravis. Miracles happen every day in their lives, she said. In spite of her using a wheelchair, Doris is thankful for a loving, thoughtful husband and for her sense of humor. They have an exceptionally happy marriage. Doris has a good singing voice and continues to be musically active. She said “Instead of being angry, trust God! Keep on keeping on. Don’t be afraid of tomorrow.” She quoted several Bible verses that support the miracles in her life then sang “Give God the Glory” and “All is Well With My Soul.”
Stacy Winans of Jamestown, N.Y., showed her lead and nickel-free jewelry. Richard Geer of Warren played guitar and sang songs.
Chairperson Birdie Crandall told of the small gathering Christian Women’s Connection groups in Warren (prayer coffee and Stonecroft Bible studies). Vice chairperson Debi Sprague read a report on how Stonecroft Bible studies are helping many people.
The Connection meets on the second Tuesday of each month for lunch. All women are welcome to this non-denominational Christian gathering. For reservations, call 723-4098.
