Injured fawn

Dear editor:

Last week, while cleaning up some of the debris washed downstream by the flooding on Six Mile Rd., to my surprise a fawn ran out of the woods toward me and layed down just feet from me.

Its front leg was badly broken, and it had a gouge out of its hip, perhaps from being hit by a car. I noted its location and came home to call for help.

Unable to find a phone number for the PA Game Commission, I called the State Police. The answering officer took the information, and within a matter of minutes, Trooper Lewis drove into my driveway.

I led him to where the fawn still lay, and he put it out of its pain. I am so grateful for the prompt response from the State Police, and appreciate the officer who came to help. Exactly how do you reach the PA Game Commission?
