Everett F. Wiler, 88, of Pittsfield, Pa. died at the Warren County Rouse Home, in Youngsville, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
He was born October 11, 1925 in Erie, Pa., a son to Joseph and Martha (Dolan) Wiler. Everett served in the U.S. Army during WWII and after being honorably discharged in 1946, he worked at the former National Forge Co. for 35 years. He attended the Pittsfield Wesleyan Church prior to taking ill. He loved to sing; mostly hymns. Everett was a very likeable man and his family and friends will miss him greatly. He made many friends at the Rouse Home and everybody loved him.
Everett married the love of his life, Alberta B. Durlin, on August 18, 1944. Together, they raised their six children and love to travel. Alberta passed away, August 22, 1998.
He is survived by his children, Everett L. (Diana) Wiler of Huntington, Tenn.; Linda F. (John) Lindstrom of Pittsfield, Pa.; Martha D. (Frederick) Fann of Chester, VA.; Terry D. (Cindee) Wiler of North Wilkesboro, N.C.; and Blaine E. (Theresa) Wiler of Spring Creek, Pa., a daughterinlaw, Susan Wiler of Auburn, N.Y., 22 grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren and greatgreatgrandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Everett was preceded in death by a son, Larry John Wiler, a grandson, Jason Wiler, and three brothers, Robert, Raymond and Leroy.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 North Main Street in Youngsville from 68 p.m. A funeral service will be held there on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Edward M. Overdoff, pastor of the Pittsfield Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Garland Presbyterian Cemetery.
