Make a wooden bracelet on ‘Crafty Tuesday’ at library
Crafty Tuesdays will be held every Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Slater Room of the Warren Public Library. Teens, tweens and adults are invited to attend these activities.
On July 1, participants will create unique cuff bracelets. Those who wish to participate in this fun activity should stop in the library and pick up a maximum of five popsicle sticks (tongue depressors) and the directions for forming the sticks to their wrist. Use a pan of water and boil your popsicle sticks for about 30 minutes and then allow them to sit in the hot water for another 30 minutes. When you remove the sticks from the water they will be pliable enough for you to bend them. Fit them into the top of a drinking glass. Choose a drinking glass that is slightly larger than your wrist. If, when you remove the bracelet from the drinking glass the bracelet is too big, you may want to put a rubber band around the bracelet to make the bracelet smaller.
On Tuesday, July 1, the crafters will use the popsicle sticks they have formed to fit their wrists and a variety of craft supplies to create their own unique bracelet(s). All materials will be supplied for this fun event. People who did not pick up their sticks in advance will be able to participate, as some pre-formed bracelets will be available.
While reservations are appreciated to ensure that enough materials are available, walk-ins are welcome. Call the library at 723-4650 to make a reservation or for more information.
