Golf results

The team of Paul Schultz, Norm Strotman, Scott Bines, and Jim Colestro took first in the Men’s Gross Division with a score of 58 while Jasen Diley, Phil DeFabio, Maurice Bennett, and Sonia Probst won the Mixed Gross Division with a 61 in the Special Olympics Golf Tournament at CVCC. First place in the Men’s Net Division went to Jamie Fitch, Joe Hennessey, Dave Holcomb, and Mark Phillips with a net score of 47 while Mike Hackett, Eric Wymer, Jeff McClement, and Jeanna Morrison took first in the Mixed Net Division with 42.2.

Regis Thompson’s 37 was the low gross and his 30 was the low net Tuesday in the Youngsville Area Senior Golf League. Jim Fehlman was second with a round of 38 and Emil Bundy netted 31. Don Hook and Bill Young each recorded two birdies while Thompson, Fehlman, Pete Hofert, Kim Reynolds, Bob Bires, and Bob Johnson had one each. The team of Fehlman, Frank Suppa, Bob Petroline, and Dick Knowles won the first half.

The team of Tim Swanson and Ken Sumner led the Peterson/Blick Scratch League at Blueberry Hill with a score of 33. Roy Swanson/Lee Cole finished two strokes behind at 35 while Tony Tridico/Scott Reynolds and Jeff Eaton/Rick Eaton each shot 36.

Betsy Senger shot the low round of 40 and Gerry Africa’s 32 was the low net in the Conewango Valley Country Club Ladies Tuesday Golf League. Here are the flight-by-flight leaders:

Little League

Here are upcoming dates, by division, for Warren County Little League all-stars (complete brackets at www.wcybsa.org). Both Boys Majors teams will be on the road on Thursday – after being postponed on Wednesday – with the Americans traveling to Emporium to take on Cameron County and the Nationals to Bradford. Both Boys Minors teams also play Thursday, with the Warren Nationals vs. Smethport/Mt. Jewett at a site to be announced, and Warren Americans at Kane. The Warren Girls Minors play St. Marys to open tournament play, at Hawbaker Field at the Farm Colony Complex in North Warren. The Warren Girls Majors All-Stars will play for the District 10 title there on Friday.

Over 30 softball

Dave Klemons was 3-for-3 and Nick Martinelli added two hits and three RBI in CMFS/The Bucket’s 5-2 win over American Legion in a rain-shortened Over 30 Modified Softball League game on Tuesday at Betts Park. Klemons and Martinelli each homered in the win.

Eric Rosequist was 3-for-3 and Scott Blum 2-for-2 in Crescent Beer’s 8-6 win over Accent Staffing. Quintin Miller and Don Watts had two hits each for Accent in the loss.

Craig Ames was 5-for-5 for Craco Cryogenics in a 21-15 win over Meridien Hardwoods. Dru Freeborough, Shea Font, Randy Whitmer, and Ted Morrison each finished with three hits for Craco.
