WGH Auxiliary awards $17,000 in scholarships

Eachyear, the Warren General Hospital Auxiliary awards scholarships to area students enrolled in a health care field of study. Applicants must submit letters of interest, grade transcripts for the previous year of study, financial aid forms, recommendations from three unrelated persons and schedule an interview with the scholarship committee. Qualified candidates each receive a $1000 scholarship.

Thanks to the community support of its many fund raisers like the hospital lobby sales, the Christmas basket raffle and the June 28 dinner/dance, the WGH Auxiliary this year was able to award 17 student scholarships.

Those students receiving scholarships and their technical schools or universities are:

Ashley Barr, Indiana University of Pennsylvania; Stephanie Benson, Venango Technical Center; Allison Blanco, Gannon University; Lauren Blanco, Slippery Rock University; Stephanie Burris, Great Lakes Institute of Technology; Kirsten DiPierro, Gannon University; Nicole Eckman, Jamestown Community College; Julianna Ely, Pennsylvania State University; Heather Graves, University of Pittsburgh; Sydnie Hoffman, Edinboro University; Donna Kavinski, Jamestown Community College; Loralee Lindemuth, Pennsylvania College of Technology; Katelyn Maille, Clarion University; Ryan Mangini, Upstate Medical University; Jessica Patz, University of Pittsburgh; Zachary Sleeman, Mercyhurst College of North East; and Kassandra Wilson, Clarion University.
