Habitat says thank you

Dear editor:

On behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Warren County (HFHWC), I would like to thank the match sponsors (DeFrees Family Memorial Fund, Sara Sokolski Family Memorial Fund, Betts Foundation, and Northwest Savings Bank, along with The Community Foundation of Warren County) and all donors who so generously contributed to Warren Gives 2014 this past May. Among many others, our organization will greatly benefit from this event. The monies we received from Warren Gives will help us start our next HFHWC construction project, determined to be in Clarendon. The property was donated to us by the Borough of Clarendon. The construction work will once again be performed with the help of the students at the Warren County Career Center. HFHWC will be purchasing the building materials and the students will gain hands-on experience building an actual house to be placed in Warren County.

Those who may not be in a position to give monetary gifts, but can donate their skills, would also be very much appreciated. Your time creates savings for HFHWC that are directly passed on to the future homeowner. There are numerous opportunities for finishing work on a recently constructed house in the city of Warren.

We would invite anyone interested in finding out ways to contribute to email us at info@habitatwarrenpa.org, visit our newly redesigned website, www.habitatwarrenpa.org, or mail to Habitat for Humanity of Warren County, P.O. Box 1473, Warren, PA 16365.

Again, thank you to those who donated to HFHWC and other organizations participating in Warren Gives. Your generosity helps Warren County service organizations continue to make the area a great place to live.
