“Reflexology will be the topic of Denny Mason at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, in Room 232 at the Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., Warren. Relax and unwind with hand and foot reflexology and “Takefumi” which is the Japanese tradition of walking on bamboo. There are many health benefits from this practice, but the main one is more restful and deep sleep. Mason is a wealth of information, and participants always learn something new each time he has a class.
Farmers Market vouchers
available to seniors
Farmers Market Vouchers are available for Warren-Forest residents age 60 and older who meet income guidelines (single $21,590 and couple $29,101). Identification with birth date is required. Vouchers will be available from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on June 25 at Allegheny Community Center; from 9 a.m. to noon on June 30 at the Youngsville Borough Building; from 9 to 10 a.m. on July 2 to residents of Canterbury Court; and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on July 2 to residents of Conewango Towers.
Class to lunch
Warren High School Class of 1959 will hold its July luncheon at the home of Joan Bogart Jones, 72 Priest Hollow Rd., Russell, at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 1. Participants should take a dish to share. There will be plenty of tables and seating, and a large garage will be available if it rains. Coffee, tea and water will be available or bring your own. Classmates and guests are welcome.
Alzheimer’s walk launch party planned for June 26
At a recent planning committee meeting for the 2014 Warren County Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease, plans were finalized for the launch party. “Purple Rain-Together, We Can Weather the Storm” will be held at Perkins Restaurant from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26. All persons interested in the walk – to be held Saturday, Sept. 27 – are urged to attend. Available will be materials for signing up individually or as a team, fundraising items, door prizes and light refreshments. Come out to support this worthy cause; whether it be as a team captain, as a walker, to become a volunteer, or to make a donation. Open house Friday
at Summer Music School
Warren County Summer Music School will have a community open house on the last day of school, Friday, June 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Warren Area Elementary Center. Classes will be in session, and visitors are welcome to observe students during vocal, instrumental, dance and theater activities. All ages are welcome to attend this special day.
