Blair, Youngsville win on walk-offs
The 2014 Blair Senior Legion team seems to have a flair for the dramatic.
Derek Reagle’s two-out, two-run walk-off single gave Blair a 4-3 victory over Corry Northwest Savings Bank on Monday. Blair’s walk-off win was its second in as many games.
Corry drew first blood in the game, scoring two runs in the top of the second inning. Brody Wood led the inning off with a single, and came around to score when Craig Northood’s single to right field was misplayed. Northood would then come in to score on a sacrifice fly.
Blair cut Corry’s lead in half in the bottom of the inning when Collin DeLattre’s RBI walk plated Carter Cerra, but Corry pitcher Garrett Zajac escaped any further damage.
Blair would then tie the game in the bottom of the third. Tanner Teconchuk led the inning off with a walk, and advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Reagle then reached on an infield single, sending Teconchuk to third base. After a strikeout, Cerra chased Teconchuk home with a fielder’s choice, tying the game at two runs apiece.
Dylan Silvis reached on an error to lead off the top of the fourth for Corry, and scored later in the inning on an RBI groundout. Silvis’ run gave Corry a 3-2 lead, a lead they would hold onto until Blair’s dramatics in the bottom of the seventh.
DeLattre led the bottom of the seventh off for Blair by singling to center field. Collin Fantaskey advanced DeLattre to second base with a walk, and both runners advanced one base when John White laid down a sacrifice bunt. After Teconchuk lined out to center field, Reagle stepped to the plate and lined a 1-2 breaking ball into left-center field, scoring DeLattre and Fantaskey and sending Blair home with the victory.
Teconchuk got the win on the mound for Blair, pitching all seven innings while striking out seven. Zajac also went the distance for Corry, and struck out seven batters as well. DeLattre reached abse three times for Blair, and Reagle added two hits.
With the win, Blair improves their record to 2-0 on the young season. Corry moves to 0-1 with the loss. Blair will return to action on Thursday when they face Post 135 at Old Legion Field.

Logan Bellardo singled home Levi Hendrickson to give Youngsville Post 658 a 3-2 walk-off win over Post 135 Monday at Davis Street’s Legion Field.
Youngsville trailed 2-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning before Thomas Henry walked, stole second, and scored on an overthrow at third to tie the game at two. Hendrickson and Tanner Humphrey drew walks before Bellardo’s game-ending single.
Bellardo finished the game with two of Youngsville’s three hits and also tossed a complete game, allowing three hits.
Seth Baldensperger put Post on the board in the fifth with an RBI double and advanced to third on a play at the plate. Sammy Sherrard followed with a fielder’s choice to shortstop that allowed Baldensperger to score.
Post 135 threatened again in the sixth with the bases loaded and no outs before Bellardo notched a strikeout and a 1-2-3 double play to end the inning.
Bellardo followed with a double in the bottom half of the inning and came around to score on a double by Aaron Hoover.
Youngsville visits Corry Northwest Savings Bank on Thursday, and Post 135 plays Blair the same day.
