AOC on the move

On Thursday, June 12, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will hold its quarterly planning meeting at the home of Debra and John Young, 1588 Townline Road, Russell at 5:30 p.m. This will be an outdoor picnic with hot dogs provided. Participants should bring a dish to pass. We will be planning events for July, August, and September. For more information call Debra at 730-8388. On Friday, June 13, the AOC will have a cookout and paddle under the full moon at Chapman Dam. Participants should bring their own picnic dinner and their canoe or kayak, personal flotation device and craft registration, and meet at the boat launch at 6 p.m. For more information, call Dennis Anderson at (716) 969-9772.

AARP to meet

The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), local chapter 4297, will meet June 11 at the Bucket in Sugar Grove at 1 p.m. for lunch and a meeting. The group will discuss its current project. No bistro

No bistro lunch will be served at Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., on Thursday, June 12, due to Father’s Day lunch at noon.

Caregivers to meet

The Caregivers Support Group will meet at noon Monday, June 16, in Wesley Parlor of Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Pennsylvania Ave. E., Warren. Plans for the group’s summer meetings will be discussed. The Caregiver’s Group will be sponsoring a team for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease on Sept. 27 at Betts Field. Information will be available about the walk and the launch party on June 26 at Perkins Restaurant in preparation for the walk. Participants should enter the church from the east side via the elevator entrance at the rear of the parking lot. Wesley Parlor is on the first floor. Those attending are invited to take a bag lunch and beverage, if desired. All caregivers (past and present), family members of those affected by dementia, and anyone interested in the group are invited to attend. Triple Bloom planned

Warren Garden Club’s Triple Bloom committee will meet on Thursday, June 12, at Warren Holiday Inn for a noon meeting. All interested Garden Club members are welcome to attend.

K of C to meet

Knights of Columbus will meet at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at the clubhouse. All members are invited to attend.

Hot dogs served

The BEi Therapeutic Activities Group will sell hot dogs as a fund-raiser at the Thorne’s BiLo hot dog stand from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, June 13. Cost of a hot dog and a drink will be $1.50.

Fun in Pittsfield

Pittsfield Sale Days will be held June 13 and 14 with sales throughout town. On Saturday, June 14, there will be a cruise-in sponsored by Garland Volunteer Fire Department from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a chicken barbecue from noon until gone, all at Friendship Field in Pittsfield.

Warren High School Class of 1943 will have lunch at 12:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 10, at the Conewango Club, Market St., Warren.

The Warren GArden Club Board of Directors will meet at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, June 12, in the Jefferson Room of the Warren Public Library.
