Victorian Girls’ Ice Cream Social June 14

As the weather warms up and school lets out for the summer, new opportunities arise for the youngsters in our area. Girls ages 8-12 are in store for a special treat as the Warren County Historical Society is scheduled to host a Victorian Girls’ Ice Cream Social on Saturday, June 14, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Young ladies will be welcomed to a storybook afternoon filled with activities enjoyed by our ancestors during their social times. Girls, learn the art of flower arranging as you create a special keepsake of your very own. Learn the “Language of the Fans” and how to secretly and silently communicate using a dainty, handheld fan. Fun will be had by all during the traditional game of croquet, weather permitting. The young ladies will also have the opportunity to pose for an antique-styled photo, donning vintage Victorian dress, in the elaborate parlor, resulting in a unique keepsake reflecting years past but to keep for years to come. The afternoon will conclude with a social time centered around ice cream sundaes.

Space is limited, so reservations should be made as soon as possible. Cost is $7 per guest, and permission slips are required. Guests are encouraged to dress in their summer finery or vintage attire. Call 723-1795, visit, or like the Warren County Historical Society on Facebook for more information.
