The University of Nevada at Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law conferred upon Shannon Wojtowicz Clarke the degree of juris doctor on May 16. Clarke, A 1999 graduate of Youngsville High School, completed the prescribed course of study magna cum laude.

Jacob Ryan Moore graduated cum laude with a doctor of pharmacy degree from Duquesne University on May 24. He is the son of Randy and Kristin Moore of Warren. Moore is working for Kmart in Lebanon, Pa.

Cody Brown of Tidioute graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Lansing, Mich., on May 18. He also is a graduate of Penn State Erie and of Tidioute Community Charter School. He is the son of David Brown and Pamela Brown.

Northwest Savings Bank recently selected Tyler Leichtenberger to receive the $2,000 John O. Hanna Scholarship from Northwest Bancshares, Inc. Charitable Foundation. The scholarship is to assist the children of employees of Northwest Savings Bank and its affiliates in furthering their education.

Isaiah Nordland, a senior church music major of Columbus, was named to the spring 2014 dean’s list at Bob Jones University, Greenville, S.C. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a 3.0 grade point average.

Rachel M. Dinger of Russell has been accepted at Gannon University, Erie, and will begin classes in the fall 2014 semester as a radiologic science major. Dinger is the daughter of Steven and Tina Dinger and is a graduate of Eisenhower Middle High School. She was a member of Key Club and youth volunteer club.

Three dual enrollment seniors achieved dean’s list status second semester. The students are:

Mary Berardi, daughter of Thomas Berardi of Warren. She will be transferring 31 college credits to Rensselaer PolyTech Institute next year where she will be majoring in environmental engineering.

Dora Turner, daughter of Bill and Angie Turner of Russell. She was enrolled in the dual enrollment program both her junior and senior years. She will be transferring 53 college credits to the University of Pittsburgh, main campus, where she will be majoring in biology.

James Wilson , son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilson of Warren. He will be attending Lycomoing College next year majoring in chemistry. James will transfer 28 college credits from the dual enrollment program.

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford has named more than 300 students to its spring dean’s list. Of those, more than 50 earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Among those earning perfect grades were:

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford inducted 12 students into Phi Epsilon Kappa, the Honors Fraternity for Sport and Exercise Science. Among those inducted were Amber Fox, a athletic training major from Warren, and Kayla Lukasiewcz-O’Brien, a sports medicine major from Russell. Phi Epsilon Kappa is a national professional fraternity for those engaged in or pursuing careers in physical education, health, recreation, dance, human performance, exercise science, sports medicine and sports management.
