Edwin (Bob) R. Darling, 58, of Youngsville, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Saint Vincent’s Hospital after a short illness.
Bob was born September 8, 1955 in Warren to Edwin Darling and the late Nadine (Wood) Darling. An avid NASCAR car fan, Bob could be found every Sunday rooting for his favorite driver Rusty Wallace, up till his retirement in 2005. He loved motorcycles and fast cars. He kept himself busy around the house mowing the grass, making repairs, or washing his vehicles; never one to sit still for long. He was also a constant source of information for his daughters from how to change a tire to how to buy a car. One of his favorite things to do was to take his grandchildren out on 4wheeler rides. He will be missed tremendously.
He is survived by his loving wife, Durinda Darling of Youngsville, 3 Children; Aubree (Michael) Greenspun of Cherry Hill, N.J., Carrie (Jay) Skaggs of Harrisburg, Pa., Jamie (Nathan) Beck of Harrisburg, Pa., 3 StepChildren; Denise Mitchell of Warren, Tahme (John) Ling of Jamestown, and Dustin (Barbie) Jordan of Youngsville, a sister; Marcelle Wood of Harrisburg, 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Bob is preceded in death by a stepmother, Frances Darling.
Friends will be received on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 North Main Street in Youngsville from 57 p.m., at which time a Funeral Service will be held with the Rev. Marcus Briggs, pastor of the Rouse Warren Co. Home, officiating. Burial will be in the Youngsville Cemetery and will be private.
