The team of Ron and Deb Leofsky and John and Judy Dale took first place Friday in the Conewango Valley Country Club Couples Double Down Tournament with a total score of 116. Taking second place was the team of Bart and Tammy Jensen and Andy Benson and Andrea Kolpack with a score of 122.

This week’s shoot saw Celeron remain undefeated by topping Busti, 335-327. In the other match, Randolph downed Carroll, 327-314. Celeron’s Jerry Willett shot the only perfect 50, making him the High Senior Vet. Bill Dallas was High Super Senior Vet at 47, Bob Faga and Brian Westerdahl each shot 48 for High Vets, Cindy Cable and JoAnn Lewis shot 48 each for High Lady, Alex Kyler was High Junior at 44, and Dalton Becker High Sub-Junior at 47.

Big 30 addition

Eisenhower High School senior offensive and defensive tackle Jared Flaisman will play for team Pennsylvania at August’s Don Raabe Big 30 Charities Football Classic in Bradford. Flaisman played for the two-time region champion Knights, and was a multiple-time region all-star at tackle.

College news

Warren Area High School graduate Kelsey Nuhfer was recently named to the Capital One Academic All-District At-Large First-Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Nuhfer has received academic all-district honors in each of her three seasons eligible for the award and is a two-time Academic All-American with a 3.99 grade point average in California University of Pa.’s communication disorders program.

In the pool, Nuhfer qualified for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 100 butterfly as a senior.

YMCA fall soccer

The Warren County YMCA’s Fall Soccer registrations, for boys and girls ages 6-14, end on May 31. There will be no late sign-ups after this date. Registrations may be made at the YMCA, 212 Lexington Ave., Warren.
