Eagles end season with loss to Seneca

Youngsville’s bats were up to the test in a non-region game against Seneca on Monday, but the Eagles couldn’t overcome six errors in the field as they close out the season with a 15-7 loss.

The Eagles slugged three home runs courtesy of Jake Marino, Aaron Hoover, and Tyler Lehman. Marino was 4-for-4 for the second straight game, including a pair of doubles and four runs scored, and Hoover finished the game 2-for-3.

“We just had way too many errors,” said Youngsville coach Wayne Marino. “Some guys had good individual games at the plate, but you can’t drop as many fly balls as we did.”

Youngsville’s season ends with a record of 5-10 overall.

“Obviously you go in with a higher goal than winning five games,” said Marino. “We’re losing four seniors, and they’re guys who played a lot. Our numbers are just low. We should be able to field a team but I can’t see us having more than what we had this year.”

For the Bobcats, Seth Magee went 3-for-4 at the plate and his brother, Jesse, was 2-for-3 with five RBI.
