Grange has memorial service
The annual memorial service was held at a recent meeting of Warren-Forest Pomona Grange presided over by Kelly Van Ord, master. Chaplain Deanna Hollabaugh conducted the service, assisted by Matt Irons and Bessie Gardner. Flowers were placed on the altar in memory of Neva Anderson, Julie Shaffer and Annabelle Motzer, all from Forest Grange, as well as for all other deceased grange members and military.
Reports were received from the youth, family activity, auctions, building & rental, community service and junior committees. The grange building was used by the School to Work group free of charge earlier this month.
Donations were approved to Hospice and the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
VanOrd presented a program due to the death of lecturer Julie Shaffer. “Roses for Mama” was read by Bob Hollabaugh; a poem, “Mom,” was read by Jeanne Reinard; “Special Father’s Day” by Colleen Kosanovich; an ad lib story and games of Wuzzle Puzzle and Hink-Pink.
Upcoming events: Auction at Pomona at 1 p.m. on May 17; PA State Grange Family Festival at Center County Grange Fairgrounds, July 17-19; Pie Day atPomona, July 28 at 9 a.m.; Warren County Fair, Aug. 5-9; regular Pomona meeting, Aug. 23 at 9 a.m. with election of officers and Watson Grange members serving lunch.
