Support a Warren tradition

The Warren County Fourth of July organization has been chosen as one of the new organizations for this year’s “Warren Gives” fundraising campaign on May 14.

“We are very proud to be chosen for this unique fundraising event,” said Wally Post, chairman of the 67th annual celebration. “We understand that every organization on this year’s list has a reason for being there and needs your support. Why should you consider the Warren County Fourth of July Organization for your donation on May 14? We are a small group but dedicated to making a difference through personal growth and community involvement. Many do not realize the many hours of planning that goes into the Fourth of July Celebration and the amount of money it takes to bring to Warren the Fourth of July Celebration it is accustomed to. Thousands converge on our community to celebrate our Nation’s birthday in style. Warren is very fortunate every year to have great sponsors that make this event possible. Many cities do nothing on the Fourth due to a lack of finances and or volunteers to make it happen. Now in its 67th year, Warren’s largest event is less than 10 weeks away. Like everything else our costs are rising, with this year’s budget at more than $60,000. Many people I speak with remember Fourth of July celebrations of years past. Our organization has done its best to bring back some of that experience this year.”

So as you consider your donation or donations to Warren Gives on May 14, we ask you consider July Fourth, Our Nation’s Birthday, Post added, “Warren’s great tradition, and support the Warren County Fourth of July Organization.
