Our kitchen band is starting to play at our local nursing home and assisted living facilities. The ladies would love to have more members so if you are interested in this rewarding volunteer service please give us a call.

Warren Gives will be held on May 14 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for online donations to support local agencies. If you do not have a computer and wish to donate to Sheffield center please stop by with your donation and we will do the computer work for you.

Memorial day program is scheduled for May 22 with Jim Cheronis as guest speaker.

RSVP greenhouse volunteers will be here toward the end of May to sell vegetable plants at a reasonable price.

Sheffield music boosters are holding a fundraiser on June 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help anyone with disposal of old TV’s or electronic device.

Farmer’s market vouchers will be available on June 2 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Sheffield days will be June 7 and we will be having our Oldies & Goodies sale. You can drop off donations or call and we will pick them up.

May 14, 2014 is Warren Gives day! It’s the day the Community Foundation of Warren County sponsors an online fundraiser for area organizations. It’s the easy, quick and secure way to support various local agencies. Participating organizations in this fundraiser will receive a percentage of matching funds from the Community Foundation. Minimum donation is $25 and you can make up to 10 donations to various agencies online. The Allegheny Community Center computer lab will be open (complete with a helper) from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for your convenience in donating. Join us for a picnic lunch at noon, too!

Blair fashion show & bingo at ACC on Friday, May 15 at 12:30 p.m. Blair Corp. is hosting this afternoon of fun and fashion featuring center models plus free give-aways for area residents. We’ll be showing off the hot summer styles, cool accessories and even have a prize or two. Come for the fashion show, stay for the bingo, and leave with a smile!

ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays and on those days when Warren County schools are closed unexpectedly due to bad weather. Hot lunches or light alternative lunches are available Monday-Friday at noon. You can call your reservation to 723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.

The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers May 12-16: pizza sub Monday; hot turkey sandwich Tuesday; picnic lunch Wednesday; chicken tenders Thursday; and soup, salad and sandwiches Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations. Menu is subject to change based on availability.
