Ike loses non-region game

FAIRVIEW – Despite out-hitting host Fairview, Eisenhower dropped a 6-3 decision to the Tigers on Thursday.

The Knights drew first blood in the top of the third inning when they scored three runs. After Logan Bellardo doubled and Casey Vincent walked, both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Kyle Hunt then drove both home with a two run single. Hunt would come around to score later in the inning on an RBI infield single from Freshman Chase Elmquist.

Fairview scored one run in the bottom of the third, and then went on to do the remainder of the scoring in the fourth when they scored five runs and took a permanent lead.

Bellardo and Elmquist led the Knights with two hits each. Eisenhower registered seven total hits, two more than Fairview, but was unable to translate the baserunners to runs.

The loss drops the Knights to 5-7 on the season. They will return to action on Monday, hosting Youngsville in a pivotal Region 4 matchup.
