Open house in Elk Township

Elk Township Historical Society invites everyone to come to the first Scandia School Open House of 2014, this Saturday, May 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. Visit the past to see the vintage bottle exhibit in the museum and browse the extensive student records in the restored one room schoolhouse.

Plan Relay for Life

A Relay for Life planning meeting will be held Tuesday, May 13, at the Warren Public Library. Committees will meet at 5:30 p.m., and teams will meet at 6:30 p.m.

Comedy show May 31

The Comedy Troupe “In All Seriousness” will present “Whatta Wedding!!” at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Conewango Club, 201 Market St., Warren, to benefit the Warren YMCA Powerhouse Gymnastics Team. The event will be a “traditional” wedding reception – like you’ve never seen it done before! The wild characters romp through the evening complete with reception line, toasts, throwing of the garter and bouquet, bridal dances, group dances and a surprise ending that will make this the most memorable marriage you’ve ever attended. Tickets will be on sale beginning May 1. Call the Conewango Club at 723-6250 for more information. Cost will be $55 per couple and $30 per single.

Tree farm walk

On Sunday, May 11, Forester Charles Merroth will lead an informational hike in a tree farm on Youngsville Road near Tidioute. Bring a picnic for afterwards. Hot dogs will be provided. Participants should meet at Bett’s Field at 1:15 p.m. For more information, call Merroth at 723-9212.

K of C to meet

Warren K of C will meet Thursday, May 8, at 8 p.m. in the TK Room at Holy Redeemer Church. Members should note the meeting location change. All members are invited.
