Youngsville Public Library will be open special hours, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, May 14. These hours coincide with the hours of the online WarrenGives fundraising event.
“Youngsville Library will be offering our full services all day,” said Library Director Kristy Wallace. “Patrons can check out material, send faxes, utilize our Wi-Fi, and access our public internet computers from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. For patrons who wish to make a percentage-match donation, but do not have a credit card or email account, we will have a special donation container now through May 14.”

The Borough of Youngsville is asking for you to join it in the fight to restore downtown Youngsville by pledging your support May 14 during the Warren Gives online event from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Last year, the generous contributions made to Youngsville’s Revitalization through the Community Foundation of Warren County were instrumental to the improvements done on Railroad Street.
This year’s funds that are received will go toward the renovation of the deteriorated East Main Street from the eastern side of the Brokenstraw Creek Bridge to Bates Street.

The Youngsville High School Alumni Scholarship Fund will once again be rewarding ten $1,000 scholarships to qualifying seniors at graduation on June 13. You are encouraged to apply for this scholarship in the YHS guidance counselor’s office as soon as possible.
The Scholarship Fund has been awarding scholarships since 1985 to graduating seniors.
Fun Walk/Bike Ride
for CF Foundation
On May 10, there will be a fun walk / fun bike ride hosted by the family of Logan McDonald to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It will be held at Youngsville Elementary/Middle School with a start time of 10 a.m. Team Logan Lovers is also selling chances for a basket of Pampered Chef item valued at over $400.

Gals of YHS
Class of 1968
The gals of the YHS Class of 1968 will be getting together on Monday, May 12, at 9 a.m. at Richard’s Restaurant in Youngsville. Breakfast and chatting will last about one to two hours.
Debbie Ritter Sumner is in charge of reservations, so let her know if you are coming.
1966 Class Breakfast
1966 Class Breakfast will meet Saturday on May 10 at Richard’s Restaurant in Youngsville 9 a.m. It will continue to be the second Saturday of the month same time same place.
The students from Warren County Christian School took part in the semi-annual road clean-up that is sponsored by the student council. This project runs in conjunction with our annual serving of the community. The young people are part of a long tradition of maintaining Route 6 for two miles in front of the school.
Dinner at Saron
A swiss steak dinner will be held Friday, May 16, at Saron Lutheran Church on 148 W. Main St., Youngsville. The event will take place from 4:30 till 7 p.m. A donation $9 is requested; for children under 8, $4.50. Take-outs will be available.
The recycling day for May has been changed to Wednesday May 21 due to the Memorial Day holiday.
Youngsville Borough offices and services will be closed on Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day. The garbage pickup schedule will be as follows: Monday will be Tuesday; Tuesday will be Wednesday.
The Wilder Museum
The Wilder Museum will be opening for the season on May 17. There will also be a guided walking tour of the Irvine-Newbold Estate. Wilder Museum of Warren County is located at 51 Erie Ave., Irvine.
Explore the grounds of the Irvine-Newbold Estate and learn its history from re-enactors. 1 p.m. tour is $5 and includes museum admission.
The Wilder Museum of Warren County will have a Fashion Flaunt fundraiser on Thursday, May 29. Party with the Wilder Women Fashion Flaunt Fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. See bridal gowns from centuries past, savor refreshments, learn some history, and enjoy the Auction of the Purses. Cost is donation.

The Youngsville TV Corporation annual meeting will be held on May 18 at 2 p.m. in the TV Corporation building on W. Main St.
The Sanford-Grand Valley Sale Days will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 30-31. Sale times from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The sales will cover Eldred Township near Grand Valley. Maps of the sales; food and drinks will be available. For more information and questions, contact Janet Smith at 563-4584.
Looking for Vendors
The Chandlers Valley Community Center is looking for vendors for flea markets held at the ball field on the corner of Jackson Run Road and Brown Hill Road at Chandlers Valley. The flea market will be conducted every third Saturday of the month starting May 17 through Sept. 20. Hours: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. These flea markets are to benefit the community center and help sponsor our Valley Festival on Aug. 23.
