Retail theft. Conewango Township Police said a juvenile male concealed $12.97 worth of merchandise without paying for the items at Wal-Mart. The juvenile was issued a non-traffic citation for retail theft and was later released. Police said charges have been filed with District Justice Laura Bauer.
Car fire. Warren-based state police said Phillip Franks, 38, Tidioute, was westbound on Bimber Run Road at 12:54 Monday when he notice a large amount of smoke coming from the engine compartment of the vehicle. Police said Franks stopped and got out of the vehicle, which became engulfed in flames. Tidioute volunteer firefighters responded and extinguished the fire.
Theft from motor vehicle. Warren-based state police said someone entered the residence of Patti Vargason, 32, 89 Tippy Lane, between April 27 and April 28 and then removed several items from an unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the driveway. Taken were a Garmin GPS, various CDs, loose change, a brown faux leather wallet, and $700 in cash. The estimated value of all the items stolen is approximately $890. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.
