NWSB appoints Sorokes
Megan E. Sorokes has been named compliance communications manager of Northwest Savings Bank. Ronald Andzelik, chief compliance officer, made the announcement.
As compliance communications manager, Sorokes will develop an internal compliance training and education program to enhance the bank’s existing initiatives. The program will help educate Northwest employees about related laws and regulations and will provide information about compliance updates, current trends and best practices. In addition, Sorokes will assist with the development of the bank’s compliance management system.
Sorokes joins Northwest after serving as an associate with Edmonds & Nolte, PC in Houston, Texas. Previously, she worked as an attorney for Sneed, PLLC in Davidson, N.C.; as the director of communications for New York State Senator Catharine Young, 57th District; a writer and editor for the Olean Times Herald and a senior paralegal for Wachovia.
Sorokes received a Juris Doctor from SUNY Buffalo Law School and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from St. Bonaventure University. She is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
