Youngsville Library & Warren Gives

The Youngsville Public Library is one of the organizations chosen by the Community Foundation of Warren County to participate in the WarrenGives fundraising campaign scheduled for May 14. On Wednesday, May 14, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the WarrenGIves website will be open for donors to give donations electronically to various charities of their choosing at

The Youngsville Public Library (YPL) will be open special hours on May 14 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and members of the Friends of the Youngsville Library and board members will be stationed at a designated, internet accessible, public computer to assist donors throughout the day.

“This is a really unique fundraising opportunity for our library,” stated YPL Friends president Evelyn Ann Stufflebeam. “What is especially great is that in addition to the money directly donated to the Youngsville Library on May 14, the Community Foundation will also give a percentage match. Last year the percent match was roughly 20 percent, so when a patron donated $25, the amount received by our library was actually $30 because the Community Foundation generously donated additional money for each donation made.”

“By staying open for extended hours on the 14th and offering one-on-one assistance to the WarrenGives website, the board and friends hope to both increase donation participation for Youngsville Library and to target patrons who do not have an email account, don’t have computer access at home or are not computer savvy,” explained library director, Kristy Wallace. “Last year we also had some patrons who wanted to make a monetary donation during the WarrenGives Event but either weren’t able to afford the minimum online donation amount of $25 or didn’t feel comfortable making an online payment, even though WarrenGives is a secured site. To accommodate those patrons, we had a special WarrenGives donation jar on our circulation desk because every donation, no matter what denomination, is always greatly appreciated, needed, and valued. At our patrons’ request, we will have a WarrenGives donation jar on-site again.”
