Monday Night Movies at the Warren Public Library will continue April 28. This free event will begin at 5:15 p.m. in the Slater Room on the third floor of the library. This is an early start time for this week’s movie. Complimentary popcorn will be available. This week’s PG-13 rated, 161 minute film stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Cate Blanchett, John Callen and Stephen Hunter. The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece by J.R.R. Tolkien continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf and 13 Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield, on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. Having survived the beginning of their unexpected journey, the Company continues east. When they finally make it to the Lonely Mountain, they must face the greatest danger of all – a creature more terrifying than any before, which will test not only the depth of their courage but the limits of their friendship and the wisdom of the journey itself – the Dragon Smaug. Call the library at 723-4650 for the exact title of this and other movies in this series as the library’s movie license does not permit listing the titles of movies outside the library.
