Mobile food pantry at Praise Saturday

Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwestern Pennsylvania will hold a mobile food pantry for residents of the Warren County area who are in need of food assistance at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Praise Fellowship Church at 7451 Market St., Russell. Participation in the mobile food pantry is free. Pre-registration is suggested but not required; call 730-7256.

According to coordinator Kelly Younger, this is the third year for the Praise Fellowship food pantry, which is held four times a year. Co-coordinator is Tina Yeagle.

The need for food assistance is greater than ever, Younger explained.

“I think we are seeing an increase in people who need assistance,” Younger said. “We typically serve between 100 and 120 families.”

Participants do not need proof of income, but they will have to sign a form saying they meet income eligibility guidelines. Families are asked to take a container to carry their food. Participants will be served on a first-come first-served basis.
