Lady Dragons win over St. Marys, 3-0

ST. MARYS-A three-run sixth inning capped by Paige Wilson’s two-run homer helped the Lady Dragons to a 3-0 non-region win over St. Marys on Monday.

Kaitlin Ishman walked to lead off the deciding inning and came around to score on Kennedy Walter’s RBI single. Wilson connected on her second home run of the season two batters later, and the Lady Dragons were able to close it out to improve to 7-1 on the year.

“I thought early on we weren’t being disciplined enough at the plate and we chased some bad pitches,” said Warren coach Mark Bupp. “When we started showing some patience we were able to put an inning together, and the girls played solid defense behind Alexa (Bupp) and Meghan (Loutzenhiser).”

Loutzenhiser took the win in the circle after working the final four innings, striking out six batters in the process. Bupp started the game and struck out seven in her three innings.

Warren hosts Erie East for a doubleheader Tuesday at Hawbaker Field.

Megan Wortman was 3-for-4 with two triples and a double in a 12-11 junior varsity loss.
