Local woman to compete in Miss PA

Stephanie Owens, 21, was crowned the 2014 Miss Washington Crossing at the Miss Neshaminy Valley PA Scholarship Competition, held March 22 in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. Owens will represent Bucks County when she competes for the title of Miss Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh in June. The winner of the Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Competition will compete for the title of Miss America 2015 in Atlantic City, N.J., in September.

Owens is the daughter of Ronald and Risa Owens of Pittsfield. A graduate of Youngsville High School, Owens will receive a bachelor of sport and exercise science degree from Gannon University this year. She will continue her education, aspiring to a career as an emergency physician assistant.

A violinist, Owen’s platform, Support STEAM, Save the Arts in Education, promotes the value of arts education.
