Clara Carlson

Clara I. Carlson, 72, of 1 Berry Street, N. Warren, PA, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA.

Clara was born May 2, 1941 in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Conrad and Oraphelene (Guiher) Swanson.

Clara was a lifelong area resident and a 1959 graduate of Warren High School and was employed at Blair Corporation for thirty five years, from which she retired. Clara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Among many things she enjoyed, she loved her cats, but she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and her great grandsons. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

Clara is survived by her husband, David Carlson, whom she married on September 12, 1959; two daughters, Kimberly Greco and her husband Frank, Jamestown, NY, and Wanda Lewis and her husband Scott, Sugar Grove, PA; two brothers, Allen Swanson and his wife Barb, Jamestown, NY, and Wayne Swanson and his wife Susan, Ransomville, NY; one granddaughter, Crystal Lewis and her fiance’, Zach Devault; two grandsons, Michael Carlson and his wife Jessica, and Jeremy Lewis and his wife Taryne; three greatgrandsons; Conrad Carlson, Grant Carlson. and Blake Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by a daughter in 1965, Sherry Lynn Carlson; two sisters, Frances Kimberg, and Helen Hallin; and three brothers, Herman, Robert, and Herbert “Pete” Swanson.

Friends will be received at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA, on Tuesday, April 22, from 58 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 23, at 11 a.m., with Rev. marcus Briggs, chaplain, Rouse Home and Warren General Hospital, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.
