College news

Warren Area High School graduate Nick Pellegrino won 8-3 in a doubles match to help the Edinboro University Fighting Scots men’s tennis team win its fourth PSAC title in school history on Friday. Pellegrino and teammate James Cooper went 15-8 in doubles this year, including wins in eight of their last 10 matches.

Youngsville High School graduate Cory Craig was the winning pitcher in California University of Pa.’s 6-1 win over Clarion on Friday. Craig tossed seven innings and allowed one run for the Vulcans, who improve to 23-16 overall and 11-11 in the PSAC.

Youngsville High School graduate Amber Fox was 2-for-6 with three runs scored in Pitt-Bradford’s doubleheader softball sweep over Hilbert on Thursday. Fox is hitting .338 with 13 RBI through 26 games for the Lady Panthers (18-8).
