Dorothy (Carlson) Werle, 97, of Matthews Run Road, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Warren General Hospital.
She was born September 26, 1916 in the Matthews Run family home, daughter of the late Frank and Lillie (Johnson) Carlson. In her earlier years, Dorothy owned and operated a bakery in Akron, OH., and then went on to work for 27 years at the Dutch Maid in Ephrata, Pa., as a sales manager. She was a member of the Sugar Grove Mission Covenant Church and was faithful in reading her bible every day. She enjoyed reading, gardening and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by a son, Robert (Sandy) Werle of St. Petersburg, Fl., 3 grandchildren, Winston White, Dawna Kataya and Carolyn Bauer and 14 greatgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence Werle, who passed away on October 18, 1995, and also her 12 brothers and 1 sister.
Friends will be received on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Sugar Grove Mission Covenant Church, 7205 Matthews Run Road in Sugar Grove, from 11 a.m. till noon, at which time a funeral service will take place, with the Rev. Brian Haight, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Hessel Valley Lutheran Cemetery.
