Priscilla Ruth Lohnes, 89, formerly of Youngsville and Russell, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Wilkes Regional Medical Center of North Wilkesboro, NC. Priscilla was born July 9, 1924, in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Ernest S., Sr. and Ruth E. Knapp.
Mrs. Lohnes was a 1941 graduate of Lander High School. She was employed by Sylvania for twenty years as a machine operator before retiring in 1984. She attended the Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Gladys, VA also attended Beacon of Grace Community Pentecostal Church in Walkertown, NC, and she formerly attended the Kiatone Congressional. Her church activities included the Ladies Aid Society and she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Warren Senior Center and the Kernersville Center in N.C. She was a Russell Lioness and was a bowler in Sugar Grove, Warren and Frewsburg, NY.
She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Wiler, and husband, Terry, of North Wilkesboro, NC; and two sons, Fredric W. Lohnes, of Westminster, MD, and Robert E. Lohnes, of Riverview FL; one brother, Frank H. Knapp, of Warren, PA; eight grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willhard William Lohnes; two sons, Marvine L. Lohnes and Richard D. Lohnes; one daughter, Loretta E. Lohnes; two brothers, Ernest Knapp, Jr. and Roscoe Knapp; five sisters, Jennie B. VanOrd, Rosamond Daubenspeck, Onolee Miller, Daisy Hansen and Ruby L. Vanord; one half brother, Byron Knapp and one half sister, Lina Zerres.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Pennsylvania Avenue, East, Warren, on Thursday, April 17, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held there at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, with Rev. Terry Wiler, officiating. Burial will be in Foster Cemetery, Lander, PA.
