Schedule changes

Youngsville’s home baseball game against Fairview, originally scheduled for Monday, was postponed with a make-up date still to be determined.

The Youngsville at Franklin baseball game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 16.

The Youngsville at Eisenhower softball game was postponed and has also been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 16.

The Harbor Creek at Warren baseball game was postponed and will be made up on Wednesday, April 16 at Old Legion Field in North Warren.

The Strong Vincent at Warren softball game was postponed and will be made up on Wednesday, April 16 at Hawbaker Field in North Warren.

Warren’s tennis match against Rocky Grove was postponed and will be made up on Thursday, April 17 at the Betts Park Courts. Start time is 3:30 p.m.

College news

Warren Area High School graduate Matt Jaskolka picked up his fifth win of the season for the Bloomsburg University Huskies in a 7-6 win over Kutztown on Sunday. Jaskolka tossed five innings, allowing two runs and striking out three batters to help move the Huskies to 21-13 on the year.

Youngsville High School graduate Abel Robinault broke the 15-minute mark for the first time in his college career in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:48.04 at this weekend’s Bennie Benson Memorial Invitational. Robinault was one of seven new PSAC qualifiers for the Cal U Vulcans, and his time in the 5,000 was the fourth-best in the conference this season.

Youngsville High School graduate Cory Craig earned the win for Cal U after scattering four hits and three walks over five-plus innings in a 5-0 victory over Mercyhurst University on Saturday. Craig’s Vulcans are now 20-15 on the year, while Warren Area High School graduate Hank Morrison’s Lakers are 20-10 after a doubleheader split.

On Monday, Craig was named PSAC West Pitcher of the Week after going 1-1 in two starts. The sophomore righty allowed one earned run in 11.1 innings of work. Craig currently ranks second on the team in earned run average (1.94) and has made a team-high 10 appearances.

Gymnastics

Several Warren County gymnasts competed for Jamestown-based Stroup’s Gym at the Lucky Stars Invitational at Jamestown Community College. Russell-native Jesse Valone placed fourth overall in Level 8 and second in Diamond Xcel with first-place finishes in bars and beam. Sarah Inman (Sugar Grove) competed in Level 2, Noel Alexander (Russell) competed in Level 1, Emma Carlson (Russell) competed in Level 1, Attie Corey (Warren) competed in Level 1, Emily Grosch (Warren) competed in Level 1, Grace Carlson (Russell) competed in Level 1, Morgan Alexander (Russell) competed in Level 1, and Lexi Banko (Warren) competed in the pre division.

Kinzua soccer

Kinzua Nebinski defeated Mercer Bailey, 14-0, in U10 boys’ soccer action Sunday at the Warren State Hospital fields. Parks Ordiway had four goals and an assist for Kinzua, Will Sokolski had three goals, Will Nebinski and Annabelle Gross each had two goals and an assist, Jack Seyler had a goal and an assist, and Kyra Wotorson and Kiersten Horton had one goal each. Seyler, Nebinski, and Lydia Balas shared goalkeeping duties in the win.
