Philomel welcomes northern neighbors

The Philomel of Warren met April 9 for its April program entitled “Welcome Northern Neighbors.” In keeping with the traditional exchange of musical entertainment between Warren’s Philomel and Jamestown’s Mozart Club, the Mozart Club brought Nina Karbacka and her violin/cello students to present in concert. Philomel members were pleased at the fine musical accomplishments of these students who presented blended instrumentals as well as a solo by Sadie Anderson, 13-year-old, who played “Violin Concerto” by Bruch.

Hosts for the tea following the program were Adele Tranter and Kathy Neal who presented a pineapple theme in both table decor and refreshments.

Rosalind Hupp, chairperson, announced the next business meeting, program and lunch which is to be held on May 7 at the Woman’s Club. New members are welcome, and note: One doesn’t have to be a performing member; just come and enjoy the musical program. Call Robert Merenick at 726-0143 for details.
