Arthur “Buster” L. Ward, 87, a 10 year resident of the Rouse Warren County Home, and formerly of Youngsville, passed away Saturday April 12, 2014 at Warren General Hospital.
Art was born in Youngsville on July 11, 1926, a son of the late Henry and Cloe (Blakeslee) Ward. In his younger years, Art was employed by the Youngsville Brickyard, the National Forge Co., and was a successful dairy farmer for 30 years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Youngsville, the Brokenstraw Grange, the Warren County Fair Board, and a long standing member of the Pa. Farmers Association. His hobbies included carpentry projects, roller skating, bowling, and swimming in a pool that he built. For many years he grew and sold sweet corn.
Surviving are a daughter, Pamela Hummel and her husband William of Irvine, 2 sons, Arthur Ward Jr. and his wife Deborah (Olewine) and Gary Ward, all of Youngsville. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Arthur was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Isobel (Stoudt) Ward in 2012, an infant son, 2 brothers, Kenneth and Walter Ward, and a sister Emma Gustafson.
There will be no public visitation. Services will be held for the immediate family at their convenience. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
